Something new in the line up is our houseboat – Baby Blue Too. She is based on a Norwegian lifeboat hull and expertly designed and built by Dave Bongers Boat Builders. We have added a console and a new 15hp 4 stroke motor which is quiet and easy to manoeuvre around the lagoon.
This is truly a unique way of seeing the lagoon and Baby Blue Too is one of a kind! She sleeps a couple comfortably or a family of 4 with a bit of a squeeze! There’s a double berth in the bow and two singles in the mid section. A kitchen with gas cooker, washup basin and all equipment is on board as well as a flush toilet or ‘head’. The top deck area is made sturdy for sun bathing and lunches on the go.
Baby Blue Too is anchored in Mykonos but will be delivered to Indigo Blue Beach House in Sand Baai – Langabaan, where you will leave your vehicle. Baby Blue Too can move around the lagoon but will need to anchor overnight in the sheltered waters of Kraal Bay. You will have access to this world class beach and there are braai and toilet facilities on the main land.
If you have a skippers licence you will be able to move around the lagoon from Schaapen island up to Kraal bay within the Boating zone of the lagoon.
You will need to anchor at Kraal Bay at night. There is an anchorage fee of R120.00 p/night payable to the SANPARKS rangers in Kraal bay (they collect in the morning)
You can access all the beaches except for Postberg. This is a restricted area and people are not permitted to land.
If you don’t have a skippers licence, Baby Blue Too will be anchored at Kraal Bay and can be accessed from the jetty.
We will provide a small boat to access the houseboat and the beach during the day. If you have parked your vehicle at Preekstoel, you can go for a drive in the national park or visit the renowned Geelbek Restaurant for lunch. Also highly recommended is the small museum at the viewpoint at Seeberg.
Explore the Lagoon on the ‘slow boat’ taking in all the history and sights whilst lying on the top deck of Baby Blue too. We offer day trips subject to availability including lunch at Kraal Bay on the beach. The tour is available to 4 – 8 people and will be around 5 hours long. Baby Blue Too will be skippered and the tour will cover Schaapen Island, Shark Bay, Postberg including the old Post Office and Kraal Bay. Lunch will be on the beach and you will be able to swim in clear waist deep warm water whilst you wait. Fishing can also be pre-arranged at an extra fee including equipment.
Web prices subject to change without notice.

I have a Skippers Ticket, where do I collect the boat?
You will park your vehicle at Indigo Blue Beach House, Langebaan and collect the boat in Sandbaai. (directions will be provided). You can move around the lagoon (a map is provided) but you will need to anchor in Kraal Bay at night. Parks board staff will visit in the morning to collect your mooring fee.
If you would prefer to have the boat delivered to Kraal Bay, this can be arranged as well (see next question)
I DON’T have a Skipper’s Ticket, where do I collect the boat?
The boat will be delivered to Kraal Bay in the West Coast National Park. An additional delivery charge will need to be paid to cover time, fuel and permit costs. You will be met at the jetty and a small boat will be provided so that you can move between the house boat and the shore. Your vehicle will be parked in the Kraal Bay parking area so you can also use it to explore the park. Parks board staff will visit in the morning to collect your mooring fee.
NB!! Park gates close at 6.30pm in summer and 5.30 pm in winter and since the delivery skipper will need time to exit the park, we need to insist on a very strict time of 5pm in summer and 4pm in winter if you are doing a weekend charter from Friday evening.
