Breede River
|
|
- Grading: 1 (easy)
- Season: Summer
- Length: 1-2 days
- Drive from Cape Town: 1 hr 15 mins
We operate on the Breede River, near Worcester, just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town. The Breede River Valley is the largest wine producing area in the country and the river winds its way through the vineyards making for a relaxing day out in the country. The river here consists of stretches of flat water and flowing channels through the reed islands. There are no demanding rapids, which makes it the perfect trip for all ages and skill levels. We use inflatable 2 person ‘crocs’ for this trip - they are stable and easy to paddle and make the perfect tanning and swimming platform. We start the day with a light brunch on the riverbanks followed by a safety briefing and then it’s time to get on the water. Lunch is a delicious picnic spread served on the banks and the day ends in the late afternoon with a tasting of local wines. |

Sea Kayaking

- Grading: 1 (easy)
- Length: 1-2 day
- Season: All year
- Length of drive from Cape Town: 1 hr 15 mins
We have been awarded the sole rights to operate commercial sea kayaking trips in the beautiful West Coast National Park. With the jewel-like Langebaan Lagoon as its centerpiece, this park offers adventurers something different. Stunning bird life, magnificent scenery, excellent local seafood and exciting fishing are just some of the elements that make the ‘weskus’ so special. Our legendary Flaming Jo's beach camp in the West Coast National Park has come to an end. The WCNP has decided not to renew our contract for that site as they want to restore it into natural state.... We appreciate all the support and encouraging comments we have had from our past clients. We are working on a new venture within the Park, which will entail free camping within the heart of the park, lets see if they are forward minded enough to consider it? We will keep you posted! In the mean time, we have move right on, and introduced 'Indigo Blue' a Beach house on the shores of langebaan lagoon. This allows you to combine roughing it during the day when kayaking and the luxuaries of the beach house. |

Lake Malawi Sea Kayaking |
|
|
Expeditions
|
If you are looking for a real breakaway and are keen to try something different, we can highly recommend a trip to Mambo Island, Lake Malawi.
The tiny island camp, with capacity for only fourteen guests, features tastefully furnished tents with shaded decks, hammocks, hot bucket showers and ‘eco-loos’. A dining area with bar and a watersport gazebo complete camp infrastructure.
The whole camp is built of timber, thatch and canvas, and is perched on high rocks overlooking the water, blending with the African bush to create a ‘Robinson Crusoe’ atmosphere of rustic charm. The whole island falls within an exclusive concesion, guaranteeing privacy in paradise.
Sea Kayaking or Lake kayaking is the main reason we chose to check out this destination a couple of years ago, and believe me, we are still talking about it. The Kayaking is not compulsory but is highly recommended. This 7 day getaway has got to be one of the best remidies for living in the fast lane! When last did you read more than one book in a week? There are options to Scuba Dive, but realisticly, most of the amazing fish life can be seen by snorkling.
Packages start from around R12.150.00p/p ex Jhb.(please phone for a final quote depending on your needs and fluctuations in the airfares)July 08 Check out some photo's below;
