Do you have kids top occupy in the holidays? Are you keen on your children being exposed to the outdoors and empowering themselves with skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives? Are you struggling to make time to get away with the kids and feel that they are losing out? Are your kids spending too much time behind the TV and computer screen? Gravity Adventures has pioneered the Adventure Skills programmes used by many schools today, combining Adventure Skills with Outdoor and Environmental Education. We have over 12 years of experience of working with children in the outdoors. We only use experienced and well trained facilitators who are leaders in their field. The aim is to equip them with real skills in the various activities and deepen their hands-on understanding of the environment. Over the course of the 5 days, they will participate in the following activities, under the guidance of caring and inspiring facilitators;
They will camp at Gravity’s campsite right on the banks of the Palmiet River. We will supply tents and all camping equipment, kids will just need to bring along their mattresses and sleeping bags. All catering, permit fees, activities, facilitators and equipment will be provided. A detailed kit list will be supplied on confirmation of booking. Each person will receive a Certificate of Attendance on completion of the camp. Numbers are limited and group size will not exceed 16 kids, with 2 facilitators. Prices are based on parents dropping off and collecting kids from theKogelberg Biosphere Reserve but transport can be arranged if preferred (subject to minimum numbers). Bad weather: We will make every effort to adjust the programme to make allowances for bad weather but the programme is outdoor based and may need to be postponed if the forecast is very bad. Cost: R 1 950.00 per personTransport: R190.00 per person each way (R380.00 return)Come and feel the Force of Nature with your kids – and don’t be put off by the fact that it’s winter; you’ll be surprised at how much fun roughing it can be. Arrive on the evening of June 15 and settle in to your camp on the banks of the Palmiet. Enjoy a meal around the campfire and hit the sleeping bag for a cosy night’s sleep. The next day will be spent trying your hand at abseiling and/or tackling the rapids of the Palmiet (rafting for over 12’s only). The Palmiet is situated nearby the town of Kleinmond, just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town, along the scenic Clarence Drive. Cost: R900.00 per adult, R750.00 per under 19 |
