Survivor Game

SURVIVOR GAME

Outline

This is a structured multi-disciplinary game that pits two to three teams against one another. The tasks are a mixture of physically challenging and fun activities with the aim being for the teams to work together and really get to know one another. This programme is usually run in the beautiful surroundings of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve with the rustic accommodation available in the heart of the reserve for overnight options. For more luxury accommodation, the Arabella Hotel outside Kleinmond is only 15km away. Other venues include the Langebaan Lagoon and the Breede River.

Location

This activity can be run at any venue as all our equipment is mobile and experts are brought in to run each discipline. Standard venues are:

  • Palmiet River – Just outside Kleinmond, this venue is only an hour and a half from Cape Town and is run on the estuary of the Palmiet River.
  • West Coast – On the banks of Langebaan Lagoon, also around an hour and a half from Cape Town, this venue is ideal for a more conservative survivor option with a west coast flavour.

Activities

The survivor game is made up of various adventure activities designed to appeal to all skill levels. These activities are put together to suite the group’s skill level and requirements. Standard activities include:

  • Tubing – we supply specially designed tubes and run the last 2km of the Palmiet river down to the estuary. For the more conservative we run the last two rapids under the bridge as one of the activities. Skill level required – little to none

  • Trail running – we utilise the fynbos lined paths as well as the beach to set up short runs between activitie
  • Rock Jump – we use this activity for the more adventurous in the teams. The jump is around 5m and is well controlled.
  • Rope challenges – we set up various rope challenges which the teams have to work through together.

There are two options with regards meals and refreshments. Gravity can provide all of the catering or outside caterers can be brought in. Snacks and lunch are usually served under our Bedouin tents and we can also arrange drinks. Various menus are available. Lunch at a local restaurant can also be arranged.
