Gravity Adventures has been operational for 14 years, but the owners Andrew and Marie-Louise have been involve it rafting as well as tourism for much longer. Having worked for larger companies, Gravity was established to fill a share in the market place for small environmentally responsible trips which allows the client to get the most out of their getaway. Gravity is also innovative in their approach and is always at the forefront of technology in their industry. Gravity is owner driven and tours are aimed at sharing the experiences we have had throughout Africa and abroad.

- We run on the South African side of the border only, so NO PASSPORTS are required. No extra border crossing fees as well as easy transport logistics at the end of the trip.
- We are the ONLY PERMANENT OPERATORS on the Orange River Gorge. This allows us to offer wilderness trips throughout the year even during peak season.
- Gravity is a REGISTERED TRAINING PROVIDER and has a training centre which instructs guides throughout the country. This sets a very high standard for our guides and therefore, we attract experienced and qualified guides.
- We only cook with FRESH PRODUCE on our river trips which the guides prepare daily. We have a well thought out and varied menu which receives compliments off every trip.
- We supply all utensils, kitchen and toilet facilities as well as well maintained river equipment so that you only have to worry about your enjoyment. We supply Bedouin tents for shade and shelter on most trips.
- Lastly, SAFETY IS OUR PRIMARY CONCERN and we run all our wilderness adventures with this in mind and have standard operation and emergency operating procedures in place in case of an incident.
Price
Gravity is in the mid to upper price range with regards price and although peak seasons are generally the most popular with our clients, you could take advantage of our great out of season specials, and recieve the same legendary experience at a discounted price! We also offer good family packages as well as group discounts.
There are operators out there who will offer trips at cheaper prices, but all things need to be considered when choosing an operator. The primary questions to ask are for the guide to client ratio of qualified guides and the qualification of the guides, the number of nights and meals included in the package as well as the group size expected on the water. All these factors will affect your experience considerably. This is a once in a life time holiday and you want to get it right first time!
