Gravity offers a wide range of adventure activities, all designed to provide our clients with an exciting and enjoyable way of getting back in touch with nature. We specialise in smaller groups - this means our impact on the environment is minimised and that our clients will enjoy an intimate nature experience. We offer a variety of standard trips but our speciality is helping you put together your ideal adventure holiday. We also offer innovative options for corporates and schools.

Palmiet River - Located in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, the Palmiet offers white water rafting in winter and tubing in summer. Only an hour's drive from CapeTown, this is the ideal one day or weekend getaway. Add ons include abseiling, hiking, quad biking etc. Corporate packages and school camps are also available. It's also the venue for the legendary Gravity Adventure Festival, held each year over the third weekend of August.

West Coast Sea Kayaking - Paddle in the heart of the West Coast National Park, and over night in one of the many accommodation options. The lagoon is a Ramsar listed site and has a fascinatingt history stretching back to the dawn of humankind. Use this opportunity to explore the lagoon with one of our guides and enjoy lunch on a secluded beach.

Gravity Team

Our guides are one of the most important aspects of our company. We like to employ people who have solid experience and are respected in the industry. These young men and women are the essence of what Gravity is about - an innovative and professional company which is leading the industry in terms of product development, training and service.

We encourage and support them in following their dreams and in improving their skills and knowledge wherever possible. Phil Solomon and Matt Doms spent the 2008 winter season guiding in Iceland and Scotland, respectively, while Scott Martin headed back to the States. Ant Hoard sucessfully completed his National Certificate in Tourism Guiding and Sonja Petersen has just started the same course.

TIPS
Although our guides are well paid for their work, it is common practice to show your appreciation for the people who look after your safety on the river, cook up some amazing meals and entertain you with their stories and enthusiasm. Please feel free to tip your guides at the end of your trip.

Gravity Training
 Image
Our training centre is one of just two APA (African Paddling Association) accredited training centres in the country and our river guide training is internationally recognised by the International Rafting Federation. Not only do we train our own Gravity Guides, we also train most of the guides in the Southern, Eastern & Northern Cape and Namibia. We also run courses in KZN and Swaziland. Andrew is the only International Rafting Federation Instructor in South Africa and often travels Internationally to to train guides in various disciplines.
Andrew is also involved in training club Safety officers for Canoeing South Africa to try and make the sport of K1 and K2 racing a safer one. The safety officers head back to their clubs and spread the word about safety by holding safety awareness courses for their club members.
